  • Can I get a free trial version of the driver?
    Yes! In fact you can't avoid getting a trial version. All MaxLine drivers are distributed free of charge with a timelock that allows the driver to run for two hours each time the Niagara system is restarted. It's a 100% full specification driver, with a time lock. Install, test and set up the driver. When you are ready, buy the unlock code to remove the time lock but leave all the set-up in place. If the driver doesn't meet your requirements then uninstall it.
  • Which version of the driver do I need for a JACE or a Web Supervisor ?
    There is only one version. Identically the same software for hardware or software Niagara systems - JACE or equivalent from any OEM supplier, Alerton controllers running Niagara, soft JACE, or web supervisor. That's what makes Java so powerful (and simple). The number of points is decided by the unlock code, so it is easy to increase the points by simply changing the unlock code.
  • There are two different drivers with similar names - how do I choose?
    Take a look at the Application Note information. Or send ControlsPlus Solutions an outline of your application and we can help. Or request the trial version and documentation for both and see which one meets your needs.
  • Do you have a driver for my site - I need to connect to a specific system?

  • I plan to upgrade the version of Niagara - do I need new drivers?
    • The driver version MUST match the version of Niagara, newer versions are not backwards compatible due to changes in the Niagara Framework. All driver downloads include folders with multiple versions - select and install the correct files for the upgraded site. If you need the link to download the most recent version of the driver please contact ControlsPlus Solutions mail@controls.plus

    • Upgrades for different Niagara4 versions are free of charge. Upgrades for different NiagaraAX versions are also free of charge. Upgrade from NiagaraAX to Niagara4 is a paid upgrade.

    • The same unlock code works for all Niagara4 (or all NiagaraAX) versions on the same JACE or WS - but not for both AX and N4.

    • If you are changing the hardware then you need a new unlock code as the Host ID will change and the unlock code is linked to the Host ID. Please contact ControlsPlus Solutions mail@controls.plus regarding pricing for upgrades.

  • Short technical notes.

    - TraneComm3 driver
    Non-Isolated and suitable for VAV Type1 only

    - Johnson N2 serial driver
    If you are using the DMO file to transfer points information.
    For N4, the DMO file needs to be placed in ".\stations\\shared\" folder. Even for the supervisor stations.
    For security reasons, it seems that N4 does not allow third party modules to process any files except within its running station folder.

    For AX, the DMO file can still be at any location.
